  1. What are the system/technical requirements for MB2000 ebooks?

  3. What can I do with my ebook?
  4. In addition to zoom, reading, and downloading, our ebooks are fully searchable and users can annotate, bookmark, and highlight them. Users can search for terms in a single book, across their purchased titles, or across the full site.
  5. Can I read my ebook right away?
  6. Yes! MB2000 ebooks are available instantly on purchase; with no wait time for shipping or other delays.
  7. Are ebooks updated?
  8. Individual ebooks will be updated from time to time as the need arises, and purchasers will have the opportunity to be among the first to see new editions when they are released. Subscribers to collections or the full site will automatically get new editions and new titles when they are available.
  9. Can I view a sample ebook?
  10. All MB2000 ebooks have sample pages available through ViewInside that users can see before purchasing. Click the View Inside button for a free preview.

  11. Can I view the ebook offline?
  12. Once the ebook has been downloaded, it can be viewed offline at any time. 
  13. How soon am I charged for the purchase?
  14. A charge will immediately appear on your bank statement under the name Impelsys for the purchase of your ebook(s).
  15. How do I transfer the ebook to my portable reader?
  16. As mentioned in para (1) above, any device with internet access and Flash can read our ebooks online (just connect to the portal, log in and you will see all your books on your bookshelf). In addition, iPad owners can download their mb2000 ebooks directly to their iPad for offline reading (see the next question/answer). At present there is no facility for download to other hand-held devices, but this feature will be added to our portal in the fourth quarter of 2011. 
  17. How do I read the ebook on my iPad?
  18. Simply go to the iTunes appstore and download the free "mb2000" app (in the appstore search for "mb2000" and you will see the app ready to download and install on your iPad). This will enable you to download all your mb2000 ebooks directly to your iPad at no extra cost. You can also purchase additional mb2000 ebooks within the app to add to your iPad bookshelf. (For further details see the step-by-step advice below.) 
  19. Can I print my ebooks?
  20. All of our ebooks are copyright-protected. This means that there is no facility to print the text directly. However text can be copied and pasted in the normal way (subject to the limitations of copyright usage). If you wish to reproduce small extracts in an essay, email, report, etc., simply highlight the text on the page that you want to copy, right-click and select "copy", then paste into the required document.
B. Step-by-Step Guide
  1. How do I purchase an ebook?
  2. To purchase an mb2000 ebook, simply find the title you want to buy and click on "Add to Cart". This will take you directly to your shopping Cart. If you only want to buy the one ebook, click on the "Check Out" button at the bottom right-hand corner of the page and this will take you directly to our secure online payment page to complete the purchase.

    If you want to buy more than one title, you can continue browsing and "adding to cart" until you have completed your selection. You can view your cart at any time by clicking on the "View Cart" link at the top right-hand corner of the page. You can add or remove titles as you wish until you are ready to proceed to checkout. When you have completed your selection, click on "View Cart" to check the purchase list, then click on the "Check Out" button and this will take you directly to our secure online payment page to complete the purchase.
  3. How do I access my ebook after I have purchased it?
  4. After you have completed your purchase, the ebook will be automatically added to your "Bookshelf" for immediate viewing. To view your Bookshelf click on the "Bookshelf" link in the top right-hand corner of the page. You will see the book with a "Read It" button below the cover image. To read online, just click on the "Read It" button. If you want to download the book to your computer for offline reading, click on the "Download iOffline" button in the left-hand side-panel.
  5. How do I read the ebook online?
  6. Make sure you are logged in (if you have just made a purchase you will already be logged in – otherwise click on the "login" link at the top right hand corner of the page and enter your username and password). When you are logged in a link appears in the top right corner of the page showing "Bookshelf". Click on this link and you will see all your ebooks listed. Click on the "Read It" button, and off you go! 
  7. How do I download the ebook for offline reading?
  8. First you need to download our iOffline reader, which you will find on your "Bookshelf". If you are not already logged in, click on the "login" link at the top right hand corner of the page and enter your username and password. When you are logged in a link appears in the top right corner of the page showing "Bookshelf". Click on this link and you will see all your ebooks listed. In the left-hand side-panel you will see a button "Download iOffline". Click on this and follow the prompts to download and install the iOffline Reader and the Adobe AIR program.

    When you download the iOffline reader, you will need to provide:

    1.     Account URL – http://ebooks.mb2000.com
    2.     Username – Enter your account name
    3.     Password – Enter your password

    The iOffline reader will verify your account details. If the account details are correct, the reader will continue to load, and the installation will be completed. You will now see an "iOffline" icon on your desktop. To open the reader simply double-click on the icon. The reader will display a list of all the ebooks that you have purchased online with a download link for offline reading. To download any of your ebooks just click on the download link. The download link will then be replaced by a "Read" Link, for immediate viewing.

    Note: Once installed on your computer the iOffline reader will automatically sync with the ebookstore whenever you open the reader, to keep your bookshelf up-to-date with recent purchases. Also, please note that the Offline Reader can only be installed on one computer at a time; to install it on a second computer you will need to uninstall it on the first computer before proceeding with the re-installation. 
  9. How do I download the ebook to my iPad?
  10. Simply go to the iTunes appstore and download the free "mb2000" app (in the appstore search for "mb2000" and you will see the app ready to download and install on your iPad). Open the app and sign in using the username and password you created for your mb2000 account on this portal. Select "MB2000 ebookstore" from the menu at the foot of the page. This will display the full mb2000 ebook catalog, searchable by category or title. Each book will have a "buy" button (if you have not yet purchased it) or a "download now" button if you have already purchased the book on this portal. Find the ebook(s) you have already purchased and click on "download". Now select "My Bookshelf" from the menu at the foot of the page and you will see all your ebooks arranged on the Bookshelf ready for instant viewing. 
  11. How can I change my view of the page?
  12. The top panel allows you to change your view of the book by clicking on one of its icons. Scrolling over the icons before clicking will initiate a pop-up burst indicating what that particular icon can change. These include:
    •     Switch to double pane view
    •     Switch to single pane view
    •     Zoom the page
    •     Fit the page to height
    •     Fit the page to width
    •     Toggle full-screen mode.
  13. How do I add my personal notes throughout the ebook?
  14. Right click on content to which you want to add notes and choose "Add Notes" from the option list. You can check these notes in the "My notes" segment in your "My Folder" page.
  15. How do I bookmark a page?
  16. The top panel in the reader has the "Bookmark" option. Clicking on it will bookmark the page currently being viewed. You can check bookmarked pages in the "My Bookmarks" segment of your "My Folder" page.
  17. How do I use the search option?
  18. Type a search term or phrase in the search text box and click on "Go" to search the ebook content. Choose Catalog to search the title, author, description, and other information about the ebooks, or Content to search the full text of the ebooks. You can search within an ebook, across the ebooks you own, or across the entire MB2000 ebooks website. Your search results will appear in a column on the right-hand side of the page. Specific search terms usually result in more targeted results. Note: The search option is disabled when viewing the book in the full-screen mode. 
  19. How do I log into my account when I come back to the site?
  20. Click on the sign-in link on the top right of the home page to get to the log-in screen. Type your user name and password into the correct fields on the log-in screen to log into your account.
  21. How do I change my password?
  22. Click on the "My Folder" link and choose the "Profile Setting" option, from the drop down list choose "Change Password", enter a new password and click "OK". Your password will be reset to the new password.
